Mr. Longcore founded The Business Law Group on the principle that there was a better way for businesses to leverage legal counsel. Having worked extensively in complex, commercial litigation, Mr. Longcore was exposed to a number of businesses that were paying out thousands of dollars to solve problems. Many of these problems seemed avoidable if the right counsel was given to these clients sooner.
Mr. Longcore has since served as general counsel and chief legal adviser to many businesses and entrepreneurs. Through this role he has worked with emerging businesses, growth oriented businesses and mature businesses.
Mr. Longcore has served as general counsel for specialty food distribution company with private licensed retail location across the country and internationally. Mr. Longcore has served as an adviser to a number of startup and emerging businesses including multiple companies that have been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing businesses in the United States.
With his ability to see the big picture, Mr. Longcore often advises clients on preparing for exiting their business or transitioning ownership to the next generation. In 2016, Mr. Longcore published his book Avoiding Million Dollar Mistakes that outlines, in a simple format, many of the considerations a business owner should take when thinking about selling a business.
Mr. Longcore has extensive experience dealing with mergers and acquisitions having served as lead counsel on transactions ranging from a few thousand dollars to those ranging in the multi-million dollar range. Mr. Longcore has represented clients that have had deals with private parties, investment funds and publicly traded companies.
